I’m Aman Anderson, originally from Orlando, Florida. I have been working in design from one corner of the nation to the other for nearly five years, taking on challenging projects involving branding, publications and web design. I have been privileged to work with amazing professionals who opened my eyes to a better understanding of the power of digital media to create pieces that are beautiful, timeless and understandable.
Over the last three years I developed a passion for the world of publications. That passion began while I served as primary graphic designer at Last Generation Magazine. While a graphic designer at MCM Design Studio (Guildhouse) in Walla Walla, Wash., my work was featured in award-winning magazines such as Gleaner, Interpreter Magazine, and Disciples World.
My experiences gave me a close-up look at the struggles of the print industry as it deals with delivery and cost constraints that stress many small publishers, which led me to Pulchry Branding + Design in Orlando, Fla., and a growing desire to channel my energies into to the web and user interface design. While at Pulchry, I led teams developing brands and web designs for corporate clients, independent organizations and non-profit publishers.
I am currently a graphic designer at the Environmental Working Group in Washington, DC, where I work with a brilliant team of researchers, scientists designers and developers. I was lead designer on updates of several of EWG’s well-known, high-traffic databases including the 2011 SkinDeep cosmetics and sunscreen databases, as well as on high-impact reports and web sites including EWG’s “Meat Eaters Guide to Climate Change and Health”, “Losing Ground.”, and FoodNews.org
There are so many things that constrain and complicate people’s lives today because of intimidating design, so I always start the creative process by thinking about the impact a design will have socially and on the individual. Understanding people determines how inclusive a design will be and the ultimate success of the design process.
